ACTING & FILM (ABOUT ME)

I grew up in a musical family. I had my first introduction to the stage at the age of five where I sang and danced. At 17 years of age I went on to regularly produce and direct stage shows and performances for my local church which continued for six years.

In my early 20's I began working on video productions which included private and corporate projects. Over a 20 year period I gained a lot of experience as an MC fronting live bands, compering events like weddings, weekend band events and corporate evenings.

I am also a fully trained NZ school teacher with over 25 years experience and have success teaching at just about every level of education. After being a classroom teacher for six years, I decided to specialise in drama. For the next 16 years I taught the performing arts, specialising in acting for camera and theatre, at three primary schools, two high schools (one as Head of Performing Arts), Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) and South Seas School of Film and Television (SSFTV) acting for camera and stage lecturer.

My personal acting career spans over 20 years. I have performed in over 50 shows, two feature films and many short films.

My qualifications include a Bachelor of Education, Diploma in Teaching, Diploma in Producing and Directing (NZQA), and completion in Acting Masters class at SSFTV.

Completed works include:

  • a feature length film, In Your Keeping (Writer, Producer and Director)
  • Four stage productions at MIT
  • two stage productions at Pt. Chev Primary
  • 30+ short films at MIT and SSFTV (Director - Editor)
